William Henry Sexton

November 25, 1948 — May 24, 2024

William Henry Sexton, affectionately known as Billy, BJ, Bill and Buffalo, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of love, bravery, and dedication. Born on November 25, 1948, in Massillon, OH, William was the cherished son of William H. Sexton and Dorothy Fowler Sexton Parker. He spent his early years in Massillon, Ohio, before moving to Irving, Texas, where he attended MacArthur High School. Then, voluntarily joined the U.S Army.

William proudly served 4 years, during his active duty he attained the rank of a Specialist Four (E4) and went to combat for his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, US Army. His bravery and commitment were recognized with numerous honors, including the Bronze Star with Valor, the Purple Heart, and the Army Commendation Merit with Valor.

As a young boy he was a dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America. Following his distinguished military service, William built a beautiful family and successful career as a welder and machinist, later becoming a respected swimming pool designer and architect. He was baptized under the Christian faith.

William found joy in family time, hunting, fishing, music, movies, motorcycle riding, sessions with friends & family and rescuing animals. His favorite pastime was joyriding with his beloved wife, whom he affectionately called "Hey Ma." He had a signature way of ending conversations with "That's all, folks."

William is survived by his soul mate of 50 years, wife, Jean (Zahara) Sexton; his four daughters, Heather Sexton, Bianca Sexton, Alisha Sexton, and Autumn Sexton, all of Grand Prairie, TX; and his grandchildren, Valarie, Cailey, James Jr ( J.J., Bubba), Faith, Ivy-Mae, Kevin Jr., and Layla. He also leaves behind his great-grandson, Aidin William; his sisters, Darlene (James) Brennand and Ruth Anne Williams; his special brother-in-law, James (Jim) Brennand; nephews, David and Dean Klett; niece, Darrylene Kosters; and his cherished fur baby, Buddy, also known as BudBud.

William was preceded in death by his father, William H. Sexton; his mother, Dorothy I. Parker; his awesome brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Williams; and his special friends, Steve of Irving and JD of Grand Prairie.

The family extends special recognition to Sheere, his dedicated caseworker at the US Renal Care Dialysis, for her compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saving Hope Animal Rescue, Disabled Vietnam Veterans, or a Breast Cancer Research Foundation of your choice, these causes that were close to William’s heart.

William Henry Sexton will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the memories and love he shared with his family and friends.

**Rest in Peace, William. That's all, folks.**
