William “Bill” Hooten, Jr. ,75, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Grapevine, Texas. Bill was born on February 1, 1946 in Mount Vernon, Washington to William and Mary (Park) Hooten.
Bill was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He was a proud Veteran of The United States Army, working his way up to the rank of First Lieutenant. He later went on to own Bill Hooten State Farm Insurance Agency from 1975 until his retirement in 2017. Bill and Patti were longtime residents of Irving, before moving to Coppell in 1996 to continue raising their family. He was very involved in the Irving community, belonging to Irving Noon-Day Lions Club since 1973, Irving Sunrise Rotary Club, Henry Holmes Association, and a faithful member of Fellowship Church in Grapevine. He also was a Trustee for the Lions Project for Canine Companions for Independence, a program he was very passionate about. Bill was an avid golfer and tennis player.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Max Hooten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patti Hooten of Coppell; two sons, Brian Hooten and wife, Michelle of Dallas, Chad Hooten and wife, Samantha of Austin; daughter, Lindsey Hooten of Frisco; three grandchildren, Maggie, Steele and Jack; one brother, Rex Hooten of Kempner, Texas; among numerous other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May, 1st, from 1-4 pm in the Pavilion at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Colinas, 4150 N MacArthur Blvd, Irving, TX 75038.
