Tommye Dee Vonroeder

Tommye Dee Von Roeder, age 99 of Austin, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1923 in Austin, Texas. Tommye graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, which made her a forever longhorn fan, and became a teacher. She was married to Carroll Von Roeder for 41 years before his death in 2010. They had a wonderful life together and were members of the Knife and Fork Dinner Club and were members of Austin Ballroom Dancers where they enjoyed many hours of dancing together. Carroll and Tommye adopted a Rat Terrier name Delilah that was the light of their lives. She enjoyed shopping and eating raw oysters by the dozen. Tommye enjoyed fresh flowers and their backyard and sunroom in Austin that her and Carroll had designed. A very special thanks to Viola, Jacqueline and especially Alberto for the wonderful care they gave Tommye the last several years. Tommye's best buddy and caregiver was Jo Anne Silva and her husband Ed was there to lend a helping hand whenever she needed. Tommye is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Anne Howard whom she loved and was her sweet pea. There will be a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2:00. Tommye will be interred by her husband in Austin.
