Thomas Wayne Massengale

Thomas Wayne Massengale, age 84 of Rhome, Texas passed away on March 8, 2022. He was born on July 29, 1937 in Hatch, NM to Ola Mae and Thomas Newton Massengale. They both preceded him in death along with his wife Emma Jo Massengale; step-sons Doug and Craig Carner; paternal twin boys Sammy Wayne and Tommy Lane Massengale. Tom grew up in Irving where he graduated from Irving High School then went on to serve his country in the US Army. After the military he drove a truck then he owned and operated Wray's Piano Moving. Tom loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and telling them Army and childhood stories. He really enjoyed mowing his yard with his riding lawn mower. He leaves behind his daughters, Mary Michele Massengale and husband Greg Wallis, Stephanie Ann Garcia and husband JR Garcia; sisters, Glenda and Katrina; step-daughter Laura Edwards and family; grandchildren, Justin Cadenhead, Christine Ryan, Garrett Garcia, Kylee Garcia, Kendall Garcia; great-grandchildren Chole Padecky, Sincere Currie. A special thanks to C.J. Riggs and Sean Lusk for all their years of friendship. The family will receive guests from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. also at the Funeral Home. Interment will be 1:30 p.m.Thursday, March 17th at Sowers Cemetery in Irving.
