Stan Douglas Carpenter

Stan Douglas Carpenter, age 57, of Irving, Texas went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday March 5, 2024.  He was born on May 3, 1966 in Irving, Texas to Johnny and Blanche Carpenter.  They both preceded him in death and dedicated their lives to giving him a beautiful life.  Stan was born with Downs Syndrome and Scoliosis, and while the world may have viewed him as disabled, he lived a full and happy life.   Stan always had a smile on his face and did not know how to be selfish or mean.  God blessed him with a kind, gentle, pure, and loving spirit that left a lasting impact on those he spent time with.  He loved being with family and doing simple things.   He was fond of animals and loved having a house full of cats and dogs while growing up.   He loved having a room full of stuffed animals and playing with his many threading blocks.   He appreciated little things that many take for granted like watching a rainstorm from the garage, drinking his favorite soda- Dr. Pepper, sitting in his favorite lawn chair in front of the house on a beautiful spring day, going out to eat with family and spending time with those who loved him.  Stan could not speak but that did not hold him back from communicating.  He spoke volumes into the hearts of his family members and those who cared for him.    He leaves behind his sister, Susan Waits (Tom), Brothers Steve Carpenter (Samantha), Scott Carpenter, Cousin Mary Ann Miller, Nephews Connor Carpenter (Madeline) and Caleb Carpenter and great nephew William Carpenter.  The family will have a visitation from 11:30 – 12:30 on Monday March 25th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home with funeral services beginning immediately afterwards at 12:30. Interment will be at 2:15 at DFW National Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ability Connection of Texas or to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
