San Juana Vega

San Juana “Juanita” Vega, 82, of Irving, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021. She was born on December 26, 1938 in San Juan, Texas, the daughter of Luis and San Juana Vega. Juanita enjoyed traveling, dancing, chalupa, and doing word puzzles. She was also a big Dallas Cowboys Fan. Most of all she loved spending time and being with her family. She adored her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. They were the light of Juanita’s life; she would have done anything for them. She will live on in their hearts and memories. Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, and children, Gabriel, Andrew, Arnulfo, and Felix. She is survived by her children, Johnny, Manuel, Zeke, Josefa, Mary Ann, Yolanda, Maria Luisa, Reyna, and Socorro; siblings, Julian Vega, Elena Gonzalez, Paula Adame, Nina Ruiz, Tina Sustaita; thirty-four grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 16th from 3-7 pm at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, Texas. A visitation will be held in Pharr, Texas at De Leon Funeral Home on Friday, June 18th from 3-9 pm. On Saturday, June 19th everyone will meet at De Leon Funeral Home from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and go in procession to St. John the Baptist Church in San Juan, Texas, for the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at San Juan Cemetery.
