Sadie Pope Rieken

Obituary Sadie Pope Rieken age 87, of Irving, Texas received her angel wings on Thursday, January 23, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born to Bertha and Andrew D. Pope Sr. on May 11, 1932 in Kaufman, TX. Her parents preceded her in death along with her husband R. J. Rieken, Jr.; grandson, Sean Dean; and great-granddaughter, Aubrey Odell. Sadie graduated from Abernathy High School and was a team member of the Pep Squad. She retired from Taylor Publishing in 1994. Sadie married the love of her life R. J. Rieken, Jr. on June 1, 1952 in Lubbock, TX. They had three beautiful daughters; Cheryl Mitcham and husband Ken, Susan Dean, Tami Carter and husband Jason; grandchildren, Michael Odell and wife Angie, April Mitcham and fiance Todd Schieberl, Rachel Dean, Brandon Carter, Brent Carter; 5 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 28th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:30 on Wednesday, January 29th in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, TX. Service Information
