OBITUARY FOR ROBERT DUNAWAY
Bob was born on the 23rd August 1934, to Robert Ewing and
Glenda Ruth Dunaway in Nashville, Tennessee. The family had
many interesting vacations through out this land. They visited
over forty five of the forty eight states. One of the trips was
through Texas during the “warm” month of August. Bob
remarked that he would NEVER live in Texas.
While Bob was in high school at Hillsboro, he worked odd jobs
during the summer months for spending money.
After high school graduation, he applied for admission and was
accepted to Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, he
worked the sound system for WSM. He watched many of the
major country entertainers, including Chet Atkins and Marty
Robbins. perform.
After graduation, Bob applied for several jobs in engineering. He
decided on a job offer in Dallas. He lived in Arlington and
attending a Baptist church there. Then he decided to attend
First Baptist church in Dallas and moved to Dallas. Here he met
Joy Lynne Wilson and they begin their married life of almost
fifty four years.
Bob continued his career in engineering while Joy retired from
teaching school and became a home maker. The couple traveled
extensively including four countries outside the USA.
Bob liked to work with and on computers, He even built several
for his personal and some for work. He also did the sound
system for the Wednesday evening service until his health broke.
Bob was an active member of the First Baptist church in Irving.
He loved our Lord and Savior and his family. Hie favorite
hobby was working with computers and did so as often as he
could. Bob will be missed by those, who knew him.
