Richard "Butch" Kearney, 64, of Irving, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, after a brave battle. He was born on July 13, 1958, in DuBois, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert and Marty Kearney, both of whom preceded him in death.
Butch was a hard-working and devoted employee, having served in various roles throughout his career. He was a truck driver, a security officer, and a veteran of The United States Navy. Butch's commitment to his work was unparalleled, as he demonstrated when he finished his shift before driving himself to the hospital during his first heart attack. Even during his hospital stay, he made sure to stay connected to work by requesting a Wi-Fi hotspot, so he could continue working from his bed.
When Butch wasn't working, he enjoyed indulging in his hobbies of watching police shows, tinkering with gadgets, and riding motorcycles. He was a true enthusiast of these pastimes, and he often shared his passion with others.
Butch will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his dedication to his country, and his love for his hobbies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his friends and colleagues in the trucking and security industries. Butch is survived by his children, Mat, Drew, and Christina Kearney; grandchildren, Alora and Gage Kearney; siblings, Donnie Kearney, Paula Wolfe, Molly Beck, Donna Pearce, former spouse, Rebecca Kearney; nieces and nephews, Joseph Kearney, Marty Brickman, Stephanie Kearney, Stephen Kay and Jerimy Grieser.
A memorial service will be held in Butch's honor, and his remains will be interred with full military honors. His legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Butch.
