Rebeca García Castillo passed away peacefully in her sleep at the ripe age of 73 on Labor Day September 5th, 2022. Born in Muzquiz, Coahuila with her identical twin, Romelia. Rebeca was always known as the adventurous one, or the rebelde. Many know her as Becky. Romelia says she was spanked many times because of her sister’s fault but somehow Becky managed to get away with it. Her jokes were hilarious, no one was safe around her, not even a waiter. She had a heart and soul that could roast you, then embrace you and lead you to fountains of living water.
The Bible warns us in John 16:33 that we will have trouble in this world, it’s not whether we may or may not experience this. Jesus clearly says “we will have trouble.” Rebeca is at peace because she knew Jesus, Rebeca is resting with our creator because she knew him personally. Her humor and love will reach generations to come. Rebeca showed us how to laugh and gave us hope to live full and blessed lives. She knew in her soul that God is a comedian, and wondered why people were too afraid to laugh.
Rebeca spent her summers in the northern states as a migrant worker. Her smile was contagious and would instantly light up a room. Whether it was giving someone a glass of water or cooking up a feast, she carried in her heart Jesus command to love your neighbor as yourself. She was selfless, loving, and unafraid to rock the boat. She didn’t join the rat race of working for material things, she was content with what she had, and with 11 brothers and sisters she had it all. Rebeca lived a full life and taught us what truly matters. Becky is reunited with her father Manuel Garcia Bustillos, her mother Margarita Castillo Robles, her first born son Lisandro “Lee” Castillo and her brothers Fernando and Manuel Garcia. Heaven is delighted to reunite them and grateful for the Love that flowed through them.
Rebeca is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Rosenberg and her son Rafael Guerrero along with her grandchildren Gilberto, Clarissa, Alex, Isaac, Naila, Gina and Brandon Lee. Her great grandchildren are Leonardo Josiah, Mason, and Olivia.
