Peter Hickok Quinones, 52, beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2020, passing away peacefully at home after a courageous five-year battle with multiple myeloma.
Born to Ferdinand and Mary Jane Quinones of Las Cruces, N.M., Peter attended New Mexico State University, earned a degree in Business Computer Systems and moved to Dallas in 1990 to begin his career as a computer programmer for Texas Utilities. He continued his 30-year career in the electric utility industry supporting Oncor Electric Delivery, most recently as a Technology Delivery Manager for IBM.
Peter loved his family and friends. He looked forward to visits with his siblings and took advantage of the time with them to laugh, reminisce and cook meals together. Peter could entertain you for hours with stories of growing up in New Mexico as the youngest child in a large, close family. Peter loved to cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at home. Peter was a loyal, trustworthy friend and once he invited you into his world, you would never want to leave because you were having so much fun playing along with his trademark question, “For a million dollars, would you…” He loved to laugh and to make people laugh. If you were fortunate enough to have known Peter, you knew his sense of humor was like no other- witty, smart, sarcastic, wry, and it also was one of his most enormously endearing qualities. Peter loved to travel with his wife Patty and they shared countless travel adventures over the last 28 years.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Mary Jane Quinones.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patty, three brothers, three sisters, nephews, nieces, numerous friends and relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 18th from 2-4 p.m. at Winfrey Point, White Rock Lake Park, 950 E Lawther Dr. Dallas, Tx. 75218. Face masks and social distancing required.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross or other worthy foundation.
