Peggy June (Murphey) Fincher

Peggy June Fincher, age 69 entered into eternal peace at 7:57pm Wednesday, September 30, 2020. She was the fifth child of six born on June 11, 1951 in Portales, New Mexico to David Irvin and Betty Lou Murphey. Her parents both preceded her in death along with her son, Jeromy Smith; grandson, Landon Smith; brothers, Jerry Murphey, Arthur Murphey and Bobby Murphey; and sister, Louise Neeley. Peggy married her soul mate, John Fincher on November 12, 1988 in Irving, Texas. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, going to Oklahoma to gamble, spoiling her grand children and great grand children and was the rock of her family that held it all together. Peggy was an honest woman who told you how it was whether you liked it or not.When you asked her something you would get the absolute truth whether you liked it or not. She was a woman who believed family was the most important thing in life and she adored her children and grandchildren as they were the light of her life. She was a do it herself type woman and there was nothing she couldn't do, or anything she wouldn't take on. She was an absolute mother, wife, grandma and friend. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her husband of almost 32 years, Johnny Wayne Fincher; son, Donavan Smith (Jennifer Leo); daughter, Crystal Smith; sister, Delma Faye Samples; grandchildren, Brooxie Greer, Scarlett Smith, Lacy Davis, Trevor Proffitt and Breanna Smith; great-grandchildren, Christian Wilson, Travis Wilson Jr. and Reverie Evangeline Ross; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive guests at Chism-Smith Funeral Home on Monday, October 5th from 2:00-7:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service being at 4:00 also on Monday, October 5th.
