Mildred Genevieve Vandecar

Mildred Genevieve Vandecar, age 87 of Irving, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022. She was born on February 23, 1935 in Petoskey, Michigan to Louis and Edna (Dashner) Fettig. They both preceded her in death along with her husband Larry Vandecar; brothers George and Kalyd Fettig; and sister Carolyn Chellis. Millie was employed with GTE for over thirty years. She was a member of Holy Family Nazareth Catholic Church where she was on the Alter Guild and Rosary team. Millie also enjoyed volunteering for church projects and was an avid reader. She is survived by daughters Cheryl Jepson (Bryan)and Mary Phillips (Jeffery); son David Vandecar; sister Lois Manville; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We would like to thank all present, whether in person or prayer, for your love and support as we say goodbye to our beloved Millie. Your support and prayers have helped us through these travels and we couldn't have navigated it without each and every one of you. A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, 2323 Cheyenne St., Irving, TX 75062. Inurnment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in her name to Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.
