It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mickie Lynn Ray, who left us on February 25, 2023, at the age of 66.
Mickie was born on November 8, 1956, to Norman and Nona Sharp. She spent her childhood at the race track with her friends, cheering on her dad as he raced on a modified dirt track. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, and her heart was always filled with love for her grandchildren. Mickie dedicated her life to serving others and was known to be a mom to many and a safe place to all. Her kind heart and generous spirit touched the lives of countless people throughout her life.
Mickie worked as an Office Manager for Daybreak Services, a group home for adults with Intellectual Disabilities. She was passionate about her work and dedicated herself to providing the best care possible to those in need.
In addition to her work, Mickie was an avid crafter and a quilter extraordinaire. She poured her heart and soul into every piece she created, and her work was a reflection of her love for those around her.
Mickie is preceded in death by her daughter Rebecca Ray and her grandson Cole Childress; and her parents, Norman Kenneth Sharp and Nona Ethel Morgan.
She is survived by her spouse of 35 years, Roger Ray, her daughter, Candis Morris and husband, Zack Morris; grandchildren, Landon Morris, Maci Morris, and Maddie Morris; among numerous other family and friends
Mickie Lynn (Sharp) Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in peace.
