Melba Jo Strachan

November 10, 1937 — August 24, 2020

Obituary Melba J Strachan November 10, 1937 - August 25, 2020 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Melba J Strachan of Irving, Texas on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Our loved mother and grandmother passed at home surrounded by family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Cathy and Scott Batts of Irving, Texas and Billiy Williams of Talco, Texas; grandchildren Mark Cooper, Shane and Andrea Thornton, and Nikki and Nathan Lusk; great grandchildren Courtni, Kaley, Dylan, Derian, Alexa, Cole, Emily, and Jennifer; and great-great grandchildren Aubrey, Jaylee, Haylee, Kenzlie. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Donnie, both parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Melba was born in the small town of Simms, Texas to Judge and Ethle Brooks. She met the love of her life, Donnie Williams, while he was on leave from the United States Army and was soon married on March 18. Shortly after, Melba became a loving mother of two children. Melba was fun loving, God fearing beautiful lady who loved life to the fullest. She was accepting of everyone and open to all kinds of ideas. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and always put their needs first. There is nothing she wouldn't do for those in need and always went the extra mile to provide. She watched her two favorite movies, Dirty Dancing and Roadhouse, and could never get enough. She always forgave and never judged. She would dance and sing until her heart was content. She will be missed by many and will always hold a place in our heart. We love you Nanny. A service is scheduled for 10:00 am on Sunday, August 30 at the Bird's Fort Trail Park on Riverside Drive. Pastor Keith Batts will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Go Fund Me account at gofundme.com/f/npfuve-funeral-arrangements. Service Information
