Mayra Pettibone, beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend, passed away on June 28th, 2023, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on February 9th, 1976, in Nuevo Laredo to Antonio Rodriguez and Josefa Robles de Rodriguez, Mayra's vibrant spirit and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Growing up in Laredo, Texas, Mayra's childhood was filled with love and laughter. She attended Martin High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and fostered her passion for learning. Mayra went on to pursue higher education at Chamberlain University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated her career to caring for others, exemplifying compassion and professionalism in every aspect of her work.
Beyond her dedication to nursing, Mayra embraced life with a boundless enthusiasm. She found joy in various activities, including running, swimming, gardening, dancing, and exploring new destinations through her travels. Her vibrant energy and adventurous spirit were contagious, inspiring those around her to embrace the beauty of life.
Mayra possessed a unique sense of humor and an honest, straightforward nature. She was known for her witty remarks and would playfully say, "Don't make me mad or I'll call you an 'asshole' with a punch!" Her candidness was always accompanied by a warm smile, and her presence could light up any room.
Mayra leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by her daughter, Sophia, who was the center of her world and a constant source of pride and joy. Mayra's father, Antonio, held a special place in her heart, and their bond was unbreakable. She is also survived by her siblings: Jose Antonio, Hilda and husband, Jesus, Alberto and wife, Maria, Abel and wife, Martha, Ana and husband, Jorge, Gloria and husband Rigo, Juan and wife, Lucy, Aide and husband, Moises, Lilia and husband, Armando), as well as her beloved pet cow. Additionally, Mayra leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who adored her.
Mayra is preceded in death by her mother, Josefa Robles de Rodriguez. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.
Mayra Pettibone's vibrant personality, compassionate nature, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us all to live life to the fullest.
