Matthew Herrera

Matthew Herrera, age 38, of Dallas TX passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. He was born on May 12th, 1984, in Dallas Texas, the son of Jesse Herrera and Virginia Ybarra. His parents preceded him in death. Matthew grew up in the Webb Chapel area of Dallas and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He spent his life searching for his passion, only to find it in taking care of animals, as a dog handler and groomer. Growing up, he loved playing sports. Football, baseball, and swimming were his favorite. He also enjoyed watching professional sports such as The Mav’s, Rangers, WWE, and especially The Cowboys…GO COWBOYS! Most of all Matthew loved his children and loved spending time with them. He will be truly missed. Matthew is survived by his wife, Jeanette Hernandez; children, Marcus Herrera, Rosalie Herrera; brother, Gabriel Herrera, among numerous other family and friends. Visitation will be held on December 12th from 3-7 pm at Chism-Smith Funeral Home.
