Marla Pauline (Gumpert) Gumpert

April 24, 1962 — April 4, 2022

Marla Pauline Gumpert, age 59 of Irving, Texas passed away surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Monday, April 4, 2022 after a long battle with neuroendocrine cancer. She was born on April 24, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Kenneth and Hazel Gumpert. They both preceded her in death along with her husband Jose Angel Moreno; sisters, Jeannie Lee McPherson, Paula Marlene Gumpert; brothers, Kenneth Lee Gumpert II and Danny Alan Gumpert. Marla loved her kids and grandkids, the beach, watching old westerns and eating ice cream. She enjoyed plants and flowers and adored the color purple. After World War II her father was a truck driver and mother was a homemaker who loved traveling. She grew up between Dallas and Terlingua, Texas before Terlingua was famous for chili. As a teen attended an Elvis Presley concert that she talked about often. Survivors include, daughter Maria Marlene Mira (husband Myron), daughter Angela Danielle Moreno (husband Paul), son Jose Angel Moreno Jr. Grandchildren: Alex Cervantes (wife Reanna), Amanda Cervantes, Jose Moreno III, Estrella Moreno, Adrian Gonzalez, Julian Moreno and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive guests on Thursday, April 7th from 5-7 p.m. at Chism Smith Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 8th at Rains Hall Cemetery in Seagoville, Texas. Flowers and plants are welcome and please wear her favorite color purple.
