Born on July 19th, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, to Severo Juan Nanes and Amelia Flores, Maria lived a life marked by devotion, both to her family and her faith.
Maria spent her early life in San Antonio, where she also completed her formal education, earning a GED from the Dallas Independent School District. She dedicated thirty fruitful years working with Sky Chef and American Airlines, retiring to concentrate on her personal passions and her spiritual life.
An ardent believer, Maria's life was deeply rooted in her faith. Known for her devout nature, she was in the midst of reading the Bible for the seventh time in its entirety at the time of her passing. Maria was a central figure in her church, frequently calling upon her close-knit group of prayer warriors, with whom she shared many cherished moments of prayer and fellowship.
Maria's hobbies included word search puzzles and coloring, activities that brought her great joy and relaxation. Her gentle spirit and creative soul were expressed through these simple pleasures, which she often shared with her grandchildren, creating bonds and memories cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Mario Gonzales, Martha G. Watkins, David Gonzales, and Sylvia Gonzales. Maria was a cherished grandmother to Marissa Watkins, Mary Jane Gonzales, Joe Angel Gonzales, Cynthia Gonzales, and Christina Gonzales, Great GrandChildren, Elijah, Errol and Angelina each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Maria's passing leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and faith. Her unwavering commitment to her beliefs, her deep love for her family, and her vibrant spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Maria Elena Gonzales' story is one of enduring love and faith—a bright light to all who knew her. May she rest in peace, secure in the eternal love that she so fervently believed in.
