Maria Rosa C. Alcaraz

Maria Rosa C. Alcaraz, age 66, of Irving, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was born on September 23, 1955 in Laredo, Texas to Marcelino and Aurora Contreras. She is preceded in death by her mother, Aurora and her brother, Marcelino Contreras Jr. She married Rodrigo Alcaraz on December 27, 1980 in Worland, WY. Maria was an amazing woman who got along with everyone and made countless friends over the years, many of whom would come to her for advice. Maria was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, as well as her children's friends. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses. Maria loved the outdoors and would often take weekend trips with Rodrigo to their cabin, go fishing, and travel whenever they had the chance. Maria was most proud of her children and granddaughter as she helped instill great moral values in all of them. She leaves behind her husband, Rodrigo Alcaraz; daughter, Annabell Alcaraz; sons, Rodrigo Alcaraz Jr. and wife Liliana, Rogelio Alcaraz; father, Marcelino Contreras; sisters, Aurora Arenas, Hilda Villarreal, Guadalupe Alcaraz, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Olga Flores; granddaughter, Linda Marie Alcaraz; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 9th at Chism Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 10th also at the Funeral Home with interment following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
