Luz Jaramillo Gomez, known affectionately as Lita and Grandma, passed away on October 26, 2023. She was born on June 22, 1928, in the serene town of New Braunfels, Texas, to her parents Benigno Jaramillo and Blasa Vega. Luz grew up in the community of Rodriguez, Mexico, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love, faith, and creativity.

Luz was a professional seamstress, and her skill with a needle and thread was unmatched. Her talents in this craft not only clothed countless individuals but also became a cherished part of her legacy. She had an unwavering commitment to her work, producing beautifully crafted garments that brought joy to those who wore them.

A devoted member of Saint Luke's Catholic Church, Luz found solace and community in her faith. Her steadfast belief in God was a guiding light in her life, providing her with strength, hope, and purpose. Her faith was a cornerstone of her character, shaping the way she interacted with the world around her.

Luz had a deep appreciation for the arts and enjoyed immersing herself in various creative pursuits. She found joy in arts, crafts, quilting, and gardening, using these hobbies as outlets for her boundless creativity. Her artistic endeavors allowed her to express herself and create beauty in the world.

In 1961, Luz exchanged vows with the love of her life, Fred S. Gomez. Together, they embarked on a lifelong journey filled with love, companionship, and shared memories. Their union was a testament to their commitment to one another, and their love blossomed over the years.

Luz was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Fred Gomez, and her sons Everardo Jaramillo and Martin Villa. She also joined her brothers Cristobal Jaramillo, Venancio Jaramillo, and Jose Jaramillo in eternal rest.

Luz is survived by her daughter, Josey Tutt, and her husband Jack Tutt of Irving, Texas. She is also survived by her sons, Jessy Gomez and his wife Annette Stream of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Freddy Gomez Jr. of Irving, Texas. Luz's legacy lives on through her loving family, who will forever cherish her memory.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Ramos and her husband Manuel from Carrollton, Jackie Tutt Jr and his wife Lynn of Fort Worth, Allana Castaneda and her husband Jorge of Irving, and Freddy Gomez III of Irving. Luz's great-grandchildren include Isaac Lopez, Marcus Lopez, Angela Ramos, Manuel Ramos Jr., Jackson Tutt, Noel Castaneda, Ila Castaneda, and Ada Castaneda. Her great-great-grandchildren include Oliver Lopez, Valeria Ramos, Julian Lopez, and Lucas Ramos.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Norma Giron, Luz's dedicated caregiver for three years, whose unwavering support and compassion brought comfort to Luz in her final years.

Luz Jaramillo Gomez's life was a tapestry of faith, love, creativity, and family. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness and leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and light she shared throughout her life.
