Luis Alejandro Ortiz

July 12, 1983 — February 12, 2025

Luis Alejandro Ortiz, lovingly known as Alex, passed away on February 12th, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on July 12th, 1983, in Del Rio, Texas, Alex was the beloved son of Kandee Williams. He grew up in Cleburne, Texas, and was a proud graduate of Cleburne High School, class of 2001.

Alex was a dedicated claims examiner, but outside of work, he was an individual who brought joy to every room he entered. His love for life was evident in his passions and hobbies. Whether he was watching anime, playing World of Warcraft, listening to a diverse range of music, or indulging in true crime podcasts, Alex's interests were as varied as they were deep. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and following various sports, with a special fondness for his beloved Dallas Cowboys and more recently, the Texas Rangers.

Alex's greatest joy, however, came from being a father. He adored his daughter, Emi Long, and cherished every moment spent with her. He was also engaged to his lifelong partner, Jariya Long, with whom he shared many beautiful years.

Alex's twin brother, Diego, recalls fondly the memories of their childhood, including attending "hunky gatherings" and being surrounded by friends and family who would share their love and affection for Alex. Known for his quick wit and smart mouth, Alex could always make people laugh, even when dealing with drunk customers at Whataburger. He was a naturally funny and warm-hearted individual who had the rare ability to make everyone around him feel welcome, regardless of their background. He was a kind and accepting person, embracing people from all walks of life.

Alex is survived by his life partner, Jariya Long, and their daughter, Emi Long. He is also survived by his mother, Kandee Williams, and stepmother, Karen; his twin brother, Diego; and a close-knit circle of friends who will forever remember him. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, LeRay Tarango.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at Carrollton Regional Medical Center for their tireless efforts in fighting for Alex's life. We are also deeply grateful to his colleagues and former supervisors at Globe Life, where he felt blessed to work alongside such supportive people.

Alex's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a true friend, a loving partner, and a devoted father. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will remain forever in the lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
