Lana Kay Robins, a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on June 16, 2023. She was born on July 28, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas, to her loving parents, Robert Williams and Tina West. Lana's departure leaves behind a void in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
Lana's educational journey led her to Sunset High School and the University of Texas at Arlington, where she pursued her passion for social work and obtained a bachelor's degree. Her dedication and commitment to her studies earned her membership in the Phi Alpha Honor Society, a testament to her exceptional academic achievements. She then embarked on a career that allowed her to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
In her professional life, Lana was an inspiration to her peers and the students she served as a social worker. Her unwavering dedication earned her the esteemed HEB ISD Distinguished Teacher Award in 2015-2016. This recognition came as a result of her selfless intervention in the life of a student facing challenges, enabling them to overcome adversity and achieve academic success. Lana's compassion and guidance transformed lives, leaving an indelible mark on countless children.
Beyond her professional achievements, Lana had a zest for life that was contagious. She found joy in being surrounded by her beloved family and friends, often hosting imaginative and themed parties that created cherished memories for all who attended. Lana had a green thumb and nurtured a jungle of potted plants, some of which had been with her since her twenties. She lovingly cared for each leaf, delighting in "bathing their faces," as she would say. Her nurturing spirit extended to her four dogs, Sasha, Aston, Bentley, and Coco, whom she adored like her own children.
Lana's hobbies were as diverse as her interests. She connected with friends across the globe through video games and explored her creativity through various arts and crafts projects. In recent years, she had taken up jewelry making, showcasing her talent and passion for handcrafted beauty. Above all, Lana treasured the time she spent with her adored grandson, Jack, creating unforgettable memories that would be cherished for generations to come.
In 1977, Lana exchanged vows with Gary Robins, her devoted husband, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and companionship. Together, they navigated life's journey, supporting each other through both joyous and challenging times. Gary's love and presence were a source of strength for Lana, and their bond was a testament to enduring love.
Lana leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Robins, her sons Jeff Winkles and wife Lizeth, and Chris Robins, as well as her cherished grandson, Jack Winkles. She also leaves behind her brothers, Scott Williams and wife Jodie, and Randy Williams and wife Laura, along with her beloved nieces and nephews.
Lana Kay Robins will be remembered as a compassionate social worker, a devoted wife and mother, a doting grandmother, and a cherished friend. Her generous spirit, unwavering support, and vibrant presence will be deeply missed, but the memories of her love and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known her.
In honor of Lana's memory, her family kindly requests that donations be made to a charitable organization dedicated to supporting North Texas Food Bank or HEB ISD Family Support Services.
