Kenneth Ray Mitcham, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and master plumber, passed away on July 21, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He was born on June 15, 1959, in Dallas, TX, to Raymond Doyle Mitcham and Joan Willard. Kenneth spent his formative years in Irving, TX, where he attended Irving High School and laid the foundation for his remarkable life.
Kenneth's dedication to education and commitment to his profession were evident when he received an award for 15 years of service at Lancaster Independent School District, as well as, 13 years of service at Grand Prairie Independent School District. Over the course of four decades, he continued to serve the community with his expertise as a master plumber.
Beyond his career, Kenneth found joy in his faith and was an active member of Fire Life Church, where he shared his kindness and compassion with others.
Among his favorite pastimes, Kenneth relished riding motorcycles with his friends and brothers, venturing out on hunting trips, casting his line for fishing excursions, and embracing the refreshing waters of swimming. However, what brought him the greatest joy was spending quality time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, whom he adored dearly.
Kenneth leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl Mitcham, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He will forever be remembered as a caring and devoted father to his son, Michael Odell, and his wife Angie, and his daughter, April Schieberl, and her husband Todd. His grandchildren, Savannah, Chloe, Callie, and Brennen, brought immeasurable joy into his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Kenneth's love extended to his siblings, sister Debra Pike and her husband Joby, and sister-in-law Susan Dean, sister-in-law Tami Carter and husband Jason, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, whose lives were positively impacted by his presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Joan Mitcham, his mother-in-law Sadie Rieken, his brother Randy Mitcham, and his beloved granddaughter Aubrey Odell.
Kenneth Ray Mitcham's kindhearted nature, unwavering dedication, and loving spirit have left an indelible mark on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
