Kelsey Monroe Samples

Kelsey Monroe Samples Sr., age 64, of Irving, TX passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. He was born on July 24, 1957, in Dallas, TX the son of Kelsey B. and Mary Francis Samples. Monroe grew up in Irving, TX and graduated from Irving High School. He later went to Lincoln Technical Institute where he got a degree in mechanics and was top of his class. On June 21, 1980, Monroe married the love of his life, Liz. Monroe worked in construction and as an oiler for cranes, when he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and do-it-yourself projects. Most of all Monroe loved to spend time with his family and helping others. He is survived by his loving wife, Liz Samples; son, Kelsey Monroe Samples Jr.; grandson; Kelsey Monroe Samples III; siblings, Nancy Laverne Bessent, Brenda Gale Samples, Peggy Mae Vogt, Gary Allen Samples, Ronda Fay Chancellor; dear friends, Mark Harlow and Danny Harlow; among numerous other family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 10:00 am in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
