With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Jose Alejandro "Alex" Soberanis, a beloved husband, father, and friend, on September 13, 2024. Born on October 28, 1968, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Alex had a remarkable ability to brighten every room he entered and touch the lives of everyone he met.
Raised in Brownsville, Texas, Alex was a proud graduate of Homer Hanna High School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from UT Brownsville. His journey continued at Parker College of Chiropractic, where he achieved his Doctorate of Chiropractic. Alex's dedication to his profession was matched only by his passion for taekwondo and his keen interest in day trading, each pursued with discipline and enthusiasm.
Alex and his beloved wife, Julie, married on April 4, 1992, and together they created a home filled with love and joy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Julie; their children, Joshua, Jacob, Jacie, and Joseph Soberanis; his cherished grandson, Joshy Soberanis Jr.; his father, Jose Del Carmen Soberanis; his brother, Gabriel and his two cousins that he loved like brothers, Raul Escalante Jr, and Marco Escalante. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law, Sylvia; nieces Valeria Soberanis, Gabriela Soberanis, and Meleny Escalante; nephews Liam and Dylan Escalante; and his grandmother, Joaquina Rodriguez Soberanis.
Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Isabel Escalante Soberanis, and his grandfather, Estanislao Soberanis, both of whom instilled in him the values of family and perseverance that he carried throughout his life.
A man of boundless passions, Alex loved sharing his interests with those around him, whether it was a new trading strategy, a martial arts technique, or simply his appreciation for good food and cherished company. His infectious enthusiasm and vibrant spirit made him a joy to be around, and his absence leaves a profound void.
While we mourn Alex's passing, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he led. His legacy of perseverance, generosity, and courage will continue to inspire all who knew him. Rest in Jesus’ embrace, Alex Soberanis. Your light will forever shine in our hearts and we will always think of you when we enjoy a warm sunny day.
