Jose R. Aguilera

March 9, 1953 — February 16, 2020

Obituary Jose Roberto "Beto" Aguilera received his call home to eternity on February 16, 2020 after a long illness. Beto was born in Cloete de Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico on March 9, 1953 to the late Jose Pedro Aguilera Saenz and Ofilia Palafox , the only son of their four children. Beto was just 17 years old when he made his way north to America. Here, he met the love of his life Ramona Gonzales and to this beautiful 45-year marriage four children were born. A hard worker, and a determined spirit, Beto was employed for many years by Trinity Industries, the City of Dallas and later was employed with the City of Irving. In many ways, he exemplifies the lives of so many immigrants who come to America, work hard to build a good life and contribute to the community so they can then realize their dreams. Beto's greatest joy was his family. He loved babies and was beloved by his children, grandchildren and great-grands! Beto was also a big fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. If he was not bouncing babies and cheering his teams, he was often pursuing his hobbies of rebuilding cars, fishing at the lake or he was on the riding lawnmower at the lake property. Even during his illness, Beto loved to keep up his home and yard. His family worked hard to remove any concerns from him. The young men tried to stay a step ahead of Beto because he was not one to wait for things to get done. But only a few months ago, Beto spotted a tree limb that he wanted to trim. He would not wait. So out to his yard he went to saw off this limb. No one will forget his trademark caps! If you saw Beto, he had one of his many caps on his head. Whether he was under the hood of a car, fishing at the lake, riding about town, or at work, he was sporting his favorite accessory! Jose Roberto Aguilera is survived by his wife, Ramona; daughters Maria (Derek) Bacy and Diana (Raul) Robles; sons Robert Aguilera and Chris Aguilera; grandchildren Jacob (Yajaira) Aguilera, Derek (Karina) Bacy, Thomas (Nancy) Bacy, Brittney Bacy, Bridget Robles, Raul Robles, Crystal Robles, Jasmyn Aliana, Jeovani Robles, Saul Robles, and Reyna Elisa Robles. Also great-grandchildren Edgar, Madeline, Amethyst Rose and Jaxon. Other survivors are his sisters Lydia (Hector) Aguilera and Lourdes Aguilera; brothers-in-law Ernest (Lydia) Gonzales, Tommy (Sylvia) Gonzales. Tony Gonzales, Ricky Gonzales as well as sisters-in-law Vickie Sanchez, Esther Gonzales, Isabel (Ramiro) Cuevas, and Margie (John) Gonzales. Beto was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Consuelo Aguilera Martinez."I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NIV) Service Information
