Joe Bailey Jones

Joe Bailey Jones, Jr., age 92 of Irving, Texas passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022. He was born in Trenton, Texas to Joe Bailey Jones Sr. and Nona Rushing Jones. They both preceded him in death along with his son, Calvin Jones. Joe was baptized in the Baptist Church in 1957. He married Florence Roark in November of 1972, she survives. Joe had a long career in Law Enforcement serving in the Dallas Police Department for 22 years and the Dallas Sheriff's Department for 13 years. He was always telling jokes, and even made fun of how we caught the guy that shot him in the leg. Joe loved to go on Cruises, and vacationing in State Parks. He leaves behind his wife, Florence Roark Jones; sons, Timothy Bruce Jones and wife Cindy, Greg Jones; daughters, Darlene Wheeler and husband Sonny, Christy Cohagan; step-sons, Tony Hawkland and wife Kim, Donny Hawkland and wife Arlene; sisters Theresa Brooks and Wilma Frye; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, March 24th at Chism Smith Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., on Friday, March 25th at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas
