Jerry Paul Hawkins Donald, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 27, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on October 10, 1961, in San Diego, California, Jerry was the son of Tommy Lee Donald and Patsy Darlene Donald. He spent his early years in Irving, Texas, where he attended MacArthur High School.
Jerry was a man of many talents and passions. He built a successful career as a master electrician for J Electric and later worked in IT support for MAG, Olicon and GE Capital. However, his true passions extended far beyond his professional life. An artist at heart, Jerry found joy in painting with oils and drawing, using his creativity to capture the world around him. His love for music was a defining part of his life, and he cherished attending concerts with friends and family. Poetry, books, and computers were also among his many interests, reflecting his ever-curious mind and love for learning.
On November 24, 1984, Jerry married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Mary Donald, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Donald of Irving, Texas; his brothers, Jerry Calvin Donald of Irving, Texas, Shannon Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas, and Casey Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas; his nieces, Jordan Hawkins and Loren Hawkins of Fort Worth; his aunt, Carol Ann Donald of Grand Prairie, Texas; and his cousins, Ronnie Donald of Alvarado, Texas, and Donny Donald of Grand Prairie, Texas. Stevens and Johnnie Nell Farley; his uncle, Tommy Lee Gregory; his aunt, Susie Gregory; and his uncle, Jerry C. Donald.
Jerry had a deep love for life, his country, and the beauty of the world around him. He found peace in the solitude of a breathtaking sunrise and sunset and spent countless hours researching history and exploring new knowledge on his computer. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, and in honor of his love for pets, memorial contributions may be made to **Mid-Cities Community Cats**.
Jerry’s diverse personality, love for learning, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of curiosity, creativity, and love will continue to inspire.
