Janis Hait Boylson

March 5, 1937 — January 17, 2021

Janis Hait Boylson, age 83 of Irving, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. She was born on March 5, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harry and Agnes Hait. They both preceded her in death along with her son, Jimmie Allen Mattix, Jr.

Janis grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1956. She had a wide variety of jobs throughout her life, most notably Nasa Space Center and the City of Irving.

Janis married the love of her life, Brendan Joseph Boylson on December 31, 1990. They spent the rest of her life together.

She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, crocheting, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Irving Quilt Guild for several years. Janis made beautiful quilts and donated many angel quilts to Scottish Rite Hospital.

Janis loved to sew, when we were younger she would make our family matching outfits for special occasions. We will always remember her famous shortcuts during road trips, never knew where we would end up. It was such an adventure especially since we had to stop at every Hysterical (Historical) Marker on the way! Courtesy of her mom, Agnes Hait, who loved to read each and every one.

She is survived by her Husband, Brendan Joseph Boylson, daughters, Becky Mattix Jones and husband Tom Jones of Bartlesville, OK, Jan Mattix Harrison of Irving, TX, Mary Mattix Jourden of Irving, TX, son Harry Allen Mattix of Dawson, TX, 10 grandchildren, James Renfrow, Melanie Harvey, Brandon Swearingin, Daniel Harrison, Marshall Harrison, Kristin Mattix, Joseph Mattix, Richard Jourden, Zachary Jourden, Angel Jourden, and 19 great grandchildren, along with numerous family members and friends.

Janis truly loved all her family and friends. We will love and miss her always.
