Irene Garza Pena

Irene was born on January 2, 1928 in Congregacion Juarez, Nuevo Leon Mexico, she passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Irene’s parents were Samuel and Martha Garza and she had a total of 9 brothers and sisters, she was the last survivor.

Irene married Luis Pena (deceased) on February 16, 1953 and raised six children: Yolanda Campos (Marcelino) of Chicago Illinois, Josefina Pena of Chicago, Illinois, Jose Luis (Niria) Pena of Irving Texas, Elizabeth Pena (deceased), Maria Elena Tays (Willie) of Grand Prairie Texas, and Margarita Pena of Grand Prairie Texas.

Irene was loved by her sixteen grandkids, twenty-one great grandkids, four great, great grandkids, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Her life was a legacy of love, courage, strength faith and service. She was an avid gardener, cook, seamstress and homemaker. She was a faithful member of her church and served God to the very end. She will always be remembered by her good humor, her willingness to help others and the great love she gave to her family and friends.

We will always remember her and she will always be in our hearts.

Until we meet again, rest peacefully, rest soundly forever in the arms of our Loving Savior Jesus Christ.
