Irene Marian Mantooth

Irene Marian Mantooth passed away on January 26, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 2, 1926 in Winona, Minnesota. Irene is preceded in death by her parents Marian and Edmund Schumacher, her husband James K. Mantooth, children James II, Roberta, and Edmond, grandson Daniel Lynn, and her siblings Edmund, Ruth, Lois, and Marian.

Irene is survived by nine children Phyllis, Patty, Judy, Kathleen, Bill, Francis, Teresa, Laura, and James III and sisters Dolores and Patricia. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Her generosity was felt by the many generations she nurtured, leaving an enduring legacy. Irene’s love and humor will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A rosary will be held at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, Texas on February 7th at 5:30 pm. Funeral mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on February 8th at 12:30 pm with burial to follow at 2:30 pm. Irene will be buried alongside her husband at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
