Hasmatti Jardine, affectionately known as Ruby, was a beacon of love, generosity, and kindness. Born on February 17th, 1943, in the verdant embrace of Guyana, she embarked on a life journey filled with compassion and service. Ruby peacefully departed from this world on April 29th, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and an indelible legacy.
Growing up on the serene West Coast of Guyana, Ruby was instilled with values of compassion and empathy by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mahadeo (deceased). She pursued her education at Osburn Commercial School, laying the foundation for her future endeavors.
Ruby's culinary talents were renowned, and she found her calling as a caterer, delighting countless palates with her delicious creations. She nurtured both Catholic and Hindu faiths, finding solace and strength in their teachings, and was an active member of the Brickdam Catholic Church.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ruby found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Cooking, shopping, sewing, swimming, and tending to her garden were not just hobbies but expressions of her vibrant spirit. Her altruistic nature shone brightly as she dedicated her time to feeding the homeless and supporting the less fortunate, embodying the essence of selflessness.
On April 15th, 1963, Ruby united in marriage with the love of her life, Michael Jardine, embarking on a journey marked by unwavering love and companionship. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, surrounded by love and laughter.
Ruby's legacy lives on through her beloved family. She is survived by her devoted spouse, Michael Jardine, their children Katrien, Karen, Kathleen, and Michael Jr., and her cherished grandchildren Aaron, Brent, Geneva, Gabriella, Stephanie and Pierce. She welcomed with open arms her daughter-in-law Jaclyn Abella and her sons-in-law Andy Sanfilippo, Lee Weller, Rick Moonsammy, Michael Ceragioli and Dennis Rodrigues.
Ruby is preceded in death by her dear siblings Betty, Joyce, Toolia, Ceril, Cecil, Biggs, Bobby, and Rudolph, who await her in the eternal embrace.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and nurses at Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their compassionate care during Ruby's final days. They also express sincere appreciation to Carla and the compassionate team at Chism's Smith Funeral Home for their unwavering support and professionalism throughout the funeral arrangements.
In the tapestry of life, Ruby's presence was a radiant thread of love, compassion, and generosity. Though she may have bid farewell to this earthly realm, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light, inspiring all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Rest in peace, dear Ruby, your legacy of love will continue to flourish in the hearts of those you touched.
