U.S. Army Lt Colonel (Retired) Harold C Ferguson Jr., age 93, departed this life on October 30
2024. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida to Harold and Corrine Ferguson, Harold traveled the world during his lifetime. After graduating Stanton High School, Jacksonville, Florida he enrolled in ROTC training at Hampton University where he received his B.S. degree in Industrial Arts in 1953. After graduation he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann McReynolds.
"Fergie", as he was affectionately known, proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam
War and with tours of duty in Germany, Korea, Spain, Alaska (before it was a state), Massachusetts, New Mexico, Washington, and Wisconsin until he retired after 25 years at the White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico in 1978.
In retirement Harold was active in his community as President of the El Paso Real Estate Commission where he taught real estate courses throughout Texas. He managed his own real estate agency and served as a substitute teacher for the El Paso School System. His community involvement included his faithful service to his home parish of St. Raphael Catholic Church where he assisted as a lay administrator of Holy Masses. Fergie was a charter member and President of the El Paso Hampton University Alumni Association. He also served as a regional representative.
Fergie enjoyed golf, photography, and socializing with his family, friends and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity brothers at their many events.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Corrine Ferguson; wife Ann Ferguson; son John Ferguson; daughter-in-law Delfa Ferguson; sister-in-law Ada McReynolds; sister-in-law Faye Fern McReynolds.
To mourn his passing are his children: Donald (MaryAnn); Kevin; (Alexis); and Robert (Christy); along with grandchildren Monica Ann Ferguson; Lisa Marie Duarte; Elizabeth Mullins (Patrick); Wesley Ferguson; Nina Ferguson and Katelyn (Jordan) Lovett; great grandchildren: Tianna Rodriquez;
Devon "Tony" Ferguson; Ethan Ferguson; Amarie Duarte; Sean Duarte; lan Duarte; Mazie Lovett; Adam Mullins; Chiquita Guyton; and other cousins; brothers-in-law George (Elaine) McReynolds and Michael McReynolds and other family and friends.
November 8th a small service in Dallas Texas at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Parish 2323 Cheyenne St., Irving Texas 75062 viewing at 10:15am service following at 10:30am
A Graveside service will also be held on November 12th at 2:30pm
