Godeleva Dalli Albert passed away peacefully at 7:00 PM on October 18th, 2021, and went to be with her Lord at the age of 91 years. Born in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico on July 6, 1930.
Predeceased by her father and mother, Gilberto Merardo Dalli & Maria Guadalupe Dalli Solis, her husband, Quentin James Albert, Sr., and her son, Eduardo Flores Dalli. Lovingly remembered by her sons: Richard Flores Dalli, Fernando Javier Albert, and Quentin James “Jim” Albert II; grandchildren: Victoria Amber Gonzalez, Matthew James Gonzalez, Quentin James Albert III, Devon Nichole Albert, Joshua James Albert, Vanessa Renae Carranco, and Natalie Christine Albert, great-grandchildren: Nathan James Albert, Diana Mae Albert, and another great-grandchild on the way; brothers: Gilberto Dalli; sisters: Ma. Juanita Godard Dalli, Guadalupe Vasquez Dalli, and Amelia Magallanes.
Family was the most important thing to Godeleva, and she could often be found in the kitchen, making meals for her sons and grandchildren, on the couch knitting or embroidering things to make her home beautiful, or singing songs that reminded her of her childhood, often reminiscing about her mother and father. She raised her family with a strong sense of work ethic, making sacrifices for her children’s future. She was devoted to her faith, enjoyed studying the Bible, and was quick to inform that her name, Godeleva, means “love for God”. She had a unique sense of humor, known for her quick wit, and a nurturing spirit, helping to raise her grandchildren and take care of her mother later in life. She was an avid collector, finding toys and knick-knacks that brought her joy, and had the mind of an entrepreneur, constantly looking for an opportunity to do business. She was a brave woman, and the first in her family to take up residence in Irving, TX from Mexico, coming to live with her husband, Quentin, a veteran from WWII. She demonstrated that bravery later in life as a cancer survivor, and fought her battle with dementia to the end. Though she was small in stature, she was powerful in presence.
The Family will receive guests from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 24th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 25th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home with interment following at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas.
