George Lawrence Jurecka

February 11, 1939 — January 26, 2021

On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, George Lawrence Jurecka Sr., loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 81.

George was born on February 11,1939 to George and Sybil (Mickler) Jurecka in Waco, Texas.

George married the love of his life, Hope Arellano, on May 07,1956. In 1957, they moved to Dallas and started their family. George was Founder and Pastor of Cornerstone Church in Irving, Texas for over 37 years.

In 2005, George and Hope moved to Flower Mound, Texas to be close to their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Anna Lee Jurecka.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Hope, and their 3 children: Karen Marcum and husband, Dr. Shane Marcum; Stacy Woodard and husband, Captain Steve Woodard; and George L. Jurecka Jr. and wife, Sharon Jurecka. All children reside in Flower Mound, Texas. George was a very special Pops to 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandson on the way.

He is also survived by his younger brother, Curtis Jurecka and wife Sandra Jurecka of Rockwall, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 01, 2021 at 11:00 am at Cornerstone Church. The service will be streamed online to Facebook and YouTube [@cscirving] and the Cornerstone Church website [www.cornerstoneirving.org]. Interment will follow at Rolling Oaks Cemetery in Coppell, Texas.
