With profound sadness and a deep sense of loss, we announce the passing of our beloved Evelyn Lou Turner. She peacefully went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2024, at the age of 87. Evelyn was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love reflected the grace of God in all our lives.

Evelyn was born on September 27, 1936, in Irving, TX. She lived a life full of grace, compassion, and selflessness, embodying the love of Christ in every action.

Evelyn devoted her life to her family, raising seven children with love and faith. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she cherished each milestone and achievement, always grateful to the Lord for their blessings.

Evelyn’s compassion reached beyond her family, making her home a sanctuary for loved ones and stray animals alike. She cared for every stray with open arms, reflecting God's love for all creatures. Her boundless kindness extended to anyone in need, embodying Christ's teachings. Evelyn's legacy of empathy and generosity stands as a testament to her extraordinary spirit and faith.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Pamela Guara, Patricia Smith and her husband Fred Smith, Violet Monroy and her husband Joe Monroy, Lance Turner and his wife Michelle Turner, and Thomas Turner and his wife Alicia Turner. Her grandchildren: Brinda Tillery, Payton Robbins, Marinda Blackburn, Sara Custer, Rachel Lukoviak, Christopher Turner, Charla Cummings, Amber Turner, and Tristin Turner. And her great-grandchildren: Adia Tillery, Catherine Williams, Cheyenne Davis, Kiren Blackburn, Masin Morris, Morgan Morris, Caiden Morris, Landon Cummings, Brooklyn Harry, and Bella Harry. They will remember her with immense love and gratitude. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll James Turner Sr., two sons, Carroll James "CJ" Turner Jr. and Donald Whatley, and granddaughter Crystal Morris.

A viewing will be held this Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at Chism-Smith Funeral Home in Irving, TX from 5 pm to 7 pm. The celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at Chism-Smith Funeral Home at 10 am. Family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

As we mourn her loss, we take comfort in the belief that the Lord has called Evelyn home to shine in His eternal light. Rest in peace, dear Evelyn. You have earned your rest, and your memory will live on in our hearts.
