Elizabeth Grace Lively

April 21, 2003 — July 12, 2023

Elizabeth Grace Lively died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital, at age 20. Grace was born April 21, 2003, in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Napoleon’s School of Games & Strategy at 16 and from the University of Dallas in May.

Grace commissioned herself with conquering the world, arming herself valiantly with an intense love of beauty, believing that it was in fact truth, with an absolute devotion to her siblings, believing that their bond was the root of all joy, with a sincere passion for Jesus, believing that His goodness was the answer to every question, and with coffee. And chocolate.

Her superpower was caring for others with relentless humility: from her friends and family, to the homeless man sitting outside the grocery store.  With her eyes fixed on Christ and a Hail Mary on her lips, she assaulted this world with light.

She fought evil and time with the ferocity of Achilleus vindicating Patroclus and the loveliness of a butterfly that flutters briefly through your garden. We did not get in her way because we knew even the seas would part for her.

She danced.  She sang.  She created.  She shone.  She shines forevermore and nothing will ever stop her love.

Grace was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wayne Townsend. She is survived by her dear siblings, John Lively of South Carolina, Abigail, Caedmon, Levi, and Laurel of Irving, her parents, Landon Lively of Irving and Aubrey Lively of Irving, her grandparents, Lane and Linda Lively of Irving, her beloved fiance, Jack Boulet, of Alabama, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers are Jack Boulet, Joey Bremer, Gil Irlbeck, Abigail Lively, Caedmon Lively, John Lively, Layton Lively, Dominic Martin, and honorary pallbearer, Levi Lively. Her love made us her little army, and we dare not give up the fight in her absence.

A funeral mass will be held at the Chapel of the Incarnation at the University of Dallas at 10 AM, Monday, July 24, preceded by a wake at 9 AM. The family will receive friends after the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Chism Smith Funeral Home.
