Dovie Faye Norris

September 6, 1935 — December 20, 2020

Dovie Faye Norris, age 85 of Corinth, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. She was born on September 6, 1935 in Miles, Texas to Roy Lee and Edith Myrle McGuire. They both preceded her in death along with Husband Dale Norris Sr., Son Dale Norris Jr., Grandson Clinton Robertson Jr., Brothers Harold McGuire Sr., Joseph McGuire, and Kenneth McGuire. Sisters Sally Stocksdale and Shirley Myers.

Dovie married the love of her life, Dale Norris, on December 4, 1954 in San Angelo, TX. She was a waitress in her younger years but as her family grew, she became a caretaker for her grandchildren. She loved to garden, read her bible, and crochet. Dovie loved to go to garage sales and flea markets every chance she had and watch her daily soap operas. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

She was a woman that would give the last of anything she had to a perfect stranger if it meant that they wouldn’t have to go without. She was wonderfully made. A woman of God and known by all as an “Angel on Earth.” She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up any room.

She is survived by her Son Jerry Norris, Daughters Donna Hess and husband John, Lisa Gambrell and husband Jerry. Grandchildren Jennifer Read and husband Michael, Kristi Houck and Husband Brian, Ronald Norris and wife Leslie, Nathan Mott, Trisha Fowler, Derek Hess, Dale Norris III, Jessika Arwine and husband RJ, and Meghann Adams. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, December 28th at Graves Cemetery in Jacksboro, TX followed by a Celebration of Dovie's life at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Mission Church in Jacksboro, TX.
