Donald "Scooter" Odell Bailey

Donald “Scooter” Odell Bailey, 48, of Hurst, Texas, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 15, 2021. He was born on November 2, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, the son of Donald Lee and Margaret Ann Bailey. Scooter grew up in Irving and graduated from Nimitz High School. He later went on to complete his bachelor’s degree from DeVry University. On September 30, 2017, Scooter married the love of his life, Melissa. It was a love unlike any other, a fairytale kind of love.  He was a lover of music, singing and dancing with his wife. Scooter also enjoyed everything Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Star Wars, especially Yoda. He often took joy in his bowling, playing darts, and carpentry. Most of all Scooter thoroughly and wholeheartedly loved his family. He would’ve done anything for them. His memory will live on forever in their hearts.

Scooter is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Bailey; children, Hannah Bailey, Dylan Brown, Macie James, and Maddie James; among numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 21st from 4-7 pm at the Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Grace Point Church in Irving, at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 23rd.
