Dennis Harmon, age 70, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. Dennis is survived by his wife Karen, son Dillon, brother Douglas Harmon, sisters Debbie Crabbe and Jackie White.
Dennis had a love for life and adventure. He served in the Air Force for 9 Years before settling in the Dallas area. He attended UT Arlington and received his bachelor’s degree in business. Dennis worked for IBM and a local computer company in Las Colinas. It was at this time he met his wife, Karen, who worked in the travel industry. They spent the next 11 years traveling and seeing the world. During this time, Dennis also started his own IT company. Through the years, many of his clients also became good friends.
Dennis’ proudest moment was the birth of his son, Dillon. Over the next 20 plus years, time spent traveling to favorite places like Disney and spring training in Arizona along with camping, became some of Dennis’ favorite pastimes to spend with his family. His love for the game of baseball, and his passion to coach was evident for many years. He loved helping and seeing his efforts pay off both on and off the field with the boys he coached along the way.
Dennis, you are dearly missed. I hope they have Harleys and baseball in heaven. We love you.
In lieu of flowers in Dennis’ memory, we ask donations be made to either: Cedar Mountain Nature Preserve in Cedar Hill, TX – or – to Bear Creek Church in Irving, TX to help with the rebuilding of their sanctuary
