Dain Charles Goodell, age 76 of Irving, Texas passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was born on October 10, 1946 in Toledo, OH to Owen Phillip and Harriet Elizabeth Goodell. They both preceded him in death along with his brother Daniel "Danny" Goodell. Dain graduated from Morrison R. Waite High School and then entered into the United States Army where he served in Vietnam from 1966-1969. After leaving the Army, he became a General Contractor and owner of All Phaze Construction. Dain married Oralia Betoncur on July 4, 1999. He was an animated storyteller, avid traveler, gardener, inventor and craftsman. Dain enjoyed sci-fi and action-adventure movies. An avid Ohio State and Notre Dame fan, yet always willing to " suit up "and support the Dallas Cowboys. He was a connoisseur of fine wines and spirits and an outstanding cook and host and ultimate family man. He also enjoyed rock and roll and blues music and was quite a dancer. He was just like the Dos Equis commercial, truly The Most Interesting Man in the World. Dain is survived by Wife, Oralia Betoncur Goodell; Son David Goodell; step-daughters: Catina Betoncur Norton (Robert), Tomasina Betoncur Flores (Gus), Silvanna Neeley (Brandon), Julia Betoncur; step grandchildren: Orian Betoncur, Abrianna Garcia, Eddie A. Garcia, Abigail Flores, Chloe Olvera, Sophia Olvera, Analise McCoy, Thomas Ponce; great grandchildren: Angelo Yanez and Penelope Betoncur, 5 nephews and sister-in-law, Shirley Goodell (Florida). The family will receive guests on Friday, December 9th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Chism-Smith Funeral Home with funeral services being at 5:30 p.m. on the same day. The family lovingly appreciates the caring and concerned staff and Care Giver Program of the Dallas VA Hospital.
