Charles C Lee

Obituary Charles Lee, "Charlie" went home to be with his heavenly father on May 22, 2020 at the age of 86. Charlie was born on March 13, 1934 to Clarence and Detta Lee. Charlie married the love of his life, Vernia Lee and together they had five children. They made their home in Irving, TX where Charlie owned Charlie's Texaco for over 30 years. Charlie's Texaco was a full-service gas station, and he loved meeting and servicing the people of Irving. In addition to spending time with his family, Charlie enjoyed singing gospel music. He traveled around the state singing, and belonged to many gospel music associations. Charlie was a charter member of Fundamental Baptist Church of Irving, TX. Faith and family made up his foundation. Charlie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Vernia Lee; sons, Charles Jr and Mike; his parents, Clarence and Detta Lee; son-in-law Jimmy; brothers, Bill Lee, Doyle Lee and Harold Lee. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia Pearson, Peggy Cathey (Robert), Sandra Meiners (Richard), and Lisa Richards (Sam). Charlie loved all his grandkids, and their visits were a highlight for him. His surviving grandchildren, Amy and Kay Phaphou, Jason Pearson, Kim and Sean Barbe, April and Josh Thomas, Kristi and David Dowdle, Caryn Lee, Carley and Matt Beckum, Cameron Richards, Carter Richards, Jordan Richards, Brenden Richards, Mallory Meiners, Trevor Lee and Marissa Lee. In recent months, he asked for pictures of his great grandkids to be hung in his room. He said they were the cutest things in the whole world and seeing them made him smile. His surviving great grandchildren, Jake Barbe, Drew Barbe, Leighton Thomas, Hudson Dowdle, Kaii Richards and Cade Thomas; daughter-in-law, Marguerite; among numerous other family and friends. Charlie was an incredible husband, father, friend, and Papa. He will truly be missed. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 25 from 3-5 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 26 in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is May 26 at 11:30 am at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas. Service Information
