Charles Edward Burton

Charles Edward Burton, beloved father, brother, and community member, passed away on April 16, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born on July 27, 1942, in Irving, Texas, to Euell Edward Burton and Oleta Lee.

Charles served in the US Army from 1959 to 1963, stationed in Germany. He then pursued a career as a fireman and rose to the rank of Lieutenant, serving his community for 20 years from 1964 to 1984. Charles also had an entrepreneurial spirit and was the proud owner of Southern Auto Glass from 1981 to 1992.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Charles was an active member of the community. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge and an active participant in the Ambucs organization. Charles had a passion for giving back to his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Charles had many hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, dancing, fishing, and hunting. He was known for his culinary skills and loved to share his delicious creations with family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Euell Edward Burton, mother, Oleta Lee Burton, and brother, James Burton. He is survived by his loving children: son Andrew James Burton; daughter Julie and husband, Rick Daniel; and son Richard Edward Burton. He is also survived by his sister, Sheri Cannon, and sister-in-law, Cathy Burton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Irving Elks Lodge in honor of Charles' memory. May he rest in peace.
