It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carmen Magdalena Carrillo Alcala, also known as Nena, on March 23, 2023. Nena was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on May 29, 1954, to Refugio Alcala and Manuel Carrillo. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her passion for singing, love for the outdoors, and her unwavering faith in Jehovah.
Nena dedicated her life to her faith and was a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion for over 30 years. She lived her life according to the teachings of the Bible and was always an example to others in her congregation. Nena was a woman of great faith, and her conviction never wavered. She believed in the promises of eternal life and looked forward to the day of the resurrection when she could be reunited with her loved ones.
Nena was a woman who lived by the principle of being good to her neighbors at all times. She was loved and appreciated by her community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She fought the good fight until the end and never gave up, always putting her faith in Jehovah.
Nena is survived by her daughters, Cinthia and Daniella Ortiz, her grandchildren, Michelle Leal, Rawi Leal, Emily Thompson, Daniella Hernandez, and Genesis Hernandez, and her sister, Maria Alcala Quintana. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her son, Sergio Ortiz, her grandson, Dustin Alexis Ortiz, and her daughter-in-law, Claudia Rodriguez de Ortiz.
Nena will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her unwavering faith, kindness, and love for her neighbors will always be remembered. We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones and is at peace in the loving arms of Jehovah.
