Betty Ann Gilbert

Obituary Betty Ann Gilbert, age 81, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 9, 2020. She was born on September 20, 1938 in Ville Platte, LA to Otho and Beulah Williams. They both preceded her in death along with her husband, James Edwin Gilbert and brothers, Buddy and Bryan Williams. She married James Edwin Gilbert on August 15, 1959 in Ville Platte, and they moved to Irving in 1964 where she lived until five years ago when she moved to Lewisville. She soon joined Orchid Road Baptist Church where she loved the people and doing volunteer work. Betty was active at the Senior Citizen Center in Lewisville and made many friends there. She was proud of her three children and adored her grandchildren. Betty was an independent woman who will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her daughter, Jodie McConnell and husband Lee; sons, James Gilbert, Mark Gilbert and wife Diane; sister, Janet Lewis and husband Herbert; grandchildren, Bryan Gilbert, Samantha Gilbert, Liberty McConnell and Trinity McConnell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12th at Chism-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13th also at the Funeral Home with interment following at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Service Information
