Bessie Merle (Johns) Stanley

Bessie Merle Stanley, age 85, of Irving, Texas passed away on Friday May 7, 2021. She was born on February 2, 1936 in Randolph, Texas the daughter of William and Florence Johns. Bessie had a beautiful heart and always put others before herself, especially her children. Bessie was a faithful and loving wife to the love of her life, John, for over 65 years. She was an adorable lady who was an absolute joy and blessing to be around. Bessie loved The Lord and served as an instrument of his righteousness. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren passionately and each of them will not soon forget. Bessie will be fondly remembered by many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Stanley; parents, William and Florence Johns; sisters, Ruth Worthy, Ellen Landers; and brothers, Mason Johns, and Jessie Johns;

Bessie is survived by her son, Garry Stanley; daughters, Marci Gillen, Virginia Stanley, Mary Austin, Alice St. Amand, and Wanda Yarborough; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; among numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 12th from 12:00 - 1:00pm with Funeral Service starting at 1:00 pm all services will be held at Christ Church in Irving, 1750 E Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062. The Interment will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 18th at 10:30 am.
