Bennie Boyd Barker

Bennie Boyd Barker, age 88, of Irving Texas, passed away on Friday October 8th, 2021. He was born on August 22nd, 1933, in Wills Point, Texas, the son of Coy and Emmie Barker. Bennie served in The United States Navy from 1951-1954. He met the love of his life, his wife, Toshiko Jane in Oahu, Hawaii where he was stationed in the Navy at Pearl Harbor. They were married on July 6th, 1953. They later moved to Irving where he spent over 40 years in printing. Bennie was passionate about his second home in Wills Point. He enjoyed spending some of his spare time gardening and mowing on his lawn mower. He cared for his garden for many seasons and shared his crops with family and close friends. Most of all he loved being with his family and having family get togethers. Bennie will live on in his family and friends’ heart forever.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Toshiko Jane; parents, Coy and Emmie Barker; sister, Patsy Bonner; children, Patricia Barker-Bowen and Bennie Barker, Jr.

Bennie is survived by his daughters, Ann Rogers, Sandra Waltman; grandchildren, Ben Wolf, Kelly Crouch, Jeff Wolf, Chris Rogers, Crystal Waltman, Andrea Rogers; great-grandchildren, Leslie, Zachary, Kayman, Joseph, Alexis, Jacob, Joshua and Emma; great- great-grandchildren, Shadow, Asher, Jaxon and Allison; sister, Bobbie Trimble; among numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, October 14th at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held on October 15th at 10:00 am in the Chism-Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
