With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Bartolo Plata, born on November 5th, 1940, in Talco, Texas, who peacefully journeyed to his eternal rest on June 30th, 2024. Bartolo was the beloved son of Augustine Plata and Aurora Plata, and his radiant spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Growing up in McCurry, Texas, Bartolo attended Cunningham High School, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work, kindness, and a love for his community. He went on to become the proud owner and operator of Western Heating and Air, where his dedication and skills solidified his reputation as a respected professional in his field.

Bartolo lived his life with an appreciation for simple pleasures, finding joy in the company of friends and family. His hobbies included calling loved ones daily, gathering for breakfast with those dear to him, and relishing in episodes of his favorite show, "Walker, Texas Ranger." His marriage to Guadalupe Plata on September 2nd, 1970, was a special bond that lasted to the very end of their days.

Throughout his life, Bartolo encountered numerous near-death experiences that served as reminders of the precious gift of time and the resilience of the human spirit. Despite facing adversity, Bartolo embraced each day with gratitude and a zest for life that touched the hearts of many.

Bartolo is survived by his loving children, Cindy and Lorena, and his cherished grandchildren, Janette, Sophia, Dominique, Kimberly, Nevaeh, Griselda, Savannah, Madison, Matthew and great-grandchildren, Emily, Emerson, and Gia. He is also survived by his siblings Anita, Max, Joe, Vicky, Mary, Nellie, Lola, Jose and Benny. Bartolo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Guadalupe Plata, and his brother Fred Plata.

In honoring the memory of Bartolo Plata, we celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit full of resilience, and a heart brimming with love for his family and friends. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
