Arthur’s early years were spent in South Africa, where he met and married the love of his life, Susan Burchell Williamson.
Arthur had a distinguished career in technology, working at IBM before culminating his profession at Microsoft South Africa where he helped establish the company on the continent. He was also the founder and co-owner of Synapsys Systems, which grew into a family business. In late 2024, Arthur and Susan relocated to Irving, Texas, to be closer to their beloved grandchildren.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Susan; his mother, Susanna Williamson, of Oudtshoorn, South Africa; his son, Father Deneys Williamson, residing in Johannesburg, South Africa; his daughter, Jessica Kane, and her husband, Peter, of Irving, Texas; and his son, Alexander Williamson, along with his wife, Kay, of Cape Town, South Africa. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Arthur, Thomas, Lilian, and Mary Kane. Arthur is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Catharine, Carol, Francis, Louisa, Deneys, Monica, Adrian, and Susanna, and a tribe of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who looked to him as a source of certainty, strength, and wisdom.
He was preceded in death by his father, Deneys Molteno Williamson, and two brothers, Herman and Rory, whose memories remain close to the hearts of his family.
